The Seed, The Flower

imageDay 22 of NaPoWriMo. The prompt today was to write something in reflection to Earth Day. I could write endlessly about nature and animals but today I had a seed of an idea and decided to let it grow.

A seed is planted
It’s roots stretch beneath earth
Deep into the soil
Then with a little push
A sprout of lush green appears
An impression of triviality is suggested
What can this Weak! Small! Insignificant!
Creature become?
But your power is underestimated
You grow up and up
The suns rays feeding you
Seeking nutrients from rain clouds
You burst with bright colours
Petals appear and open
You are a rainbow
Those who pass you gawp at your beauty
And you stand proudly
What becomes from a seed
The flower
