Illusional Beauty

imageDay 27 of NaPoWriMo ,today’s prompt, Was to use the wondrous powers of the Internet to help you write, and I have a particular method in mind. Think of a common proverb or phrase — something like “All that glitters is not gold,” or “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” Then plug the first three words of the phrase into a search engine. Use what comes from the words to create a piece. I used ” Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. The words I collected were:

Beauty : Professional beauty, Fake it, Advice , Make up

Eye: Evolution, Optic nerve, Dark eyes

Beholder: Fictional monster

There is a sense of perfection
When the optic nerve revives
A visual injection
When Professional beauty arrives

A pleasure of attraction
Some seek advice
The power of evolution
But inside as cold as ice

Cruel eyes under make up
A mask of disguise
Trying to achieve the manufactured look
Faking it for lies

Like a fictional beast
No one sees what lies beneath
Victims don’t know until they’ve been fleeced
Because where inner beauty was, now hangs a wreath
