Easter Eggs

Day 18 and. I used yesterday’s prompt of writing a poem using three senses. I started off with this is mind but let the piece take me where it wanted to go.

Easter Eggs

A cardboard box
Colourful characters
Bright bold
Eye catching
Chocolate melted
And moulded
Shaped into a familiar
Pleasing shape
And wrapped
Crinkly shiny flexible foil
Clear smooth plastic
Holding firm
And then excitement
Fizzed up with expectation
Tearing card
Ripping with enthusiasm
Egg removed from packaging
Completely unwrapped bare
Squeezing, a loud ‘Crack’
Breaks the shell
Silky pieces of chocolate
Melting in my mouth
Sweet and creamy
Feel good sensation
Enjoyment with satisfaction
