The Chronic Drip Drip Drip

The Chronic Drip, Drip, Drip
Can you see it,

In my arm?

The wires inserted.

With a constant, aggressive,

drip, drip, drip.
But no you can’t see!

It’s invisible to all,

But me.

It’s repetitive,

Noisy chronic tones,

With its drip, drip, drip.
It’s running deep,

Within my veins.

On the outside,

I appear unchanged.

But on the inside,

I am raged.

With its drip, drip, drip.
It’s become a part of me.

I forget how normal used to feel.

So with this invader, I try to deal.

With its drip, drip, drip.
I am the chronically changed.

The warrior fighting within.

Sometimes wanting to escape my skin.

With this draining drip, drip, drip.
So see beyond what you can see.

See the wires deep in my skin.

And then maybe you can begin,

to understand my drip, drip, drip.
