My Autistic Son, I Wouldn’t Change a Thing

Napowrimo Day 2

Because its World Autism Day I’ve decided to write about my son Jake, who makes me proud everyday.

He sees the world,

Through different eyes.

His thoughts are deep,

As old as time.

He can use logic,

Like a super power.

Facts and figures,

He learns by the hour.

Hes great a chess,

A game he enjoys.

He likes that it’s quiet,

Not filled with noise.

Hes a master,

At complicated games.

Like yugioh,

Fighting through dragon flames.

Sometimes he gets overwhelmed,

By light and sound.

Environment as well,

But coping mechanisms he has found.

Yes he has struggles to face every day.

Everything’s not always gonna go his way.

I love him on an eagles wing,

Just the way he is,

I wouldn’t change a thing.
