Napowrimo 2019; Day 27. Not feeling today’s prompt off the Napowrimo page. So just went with my own flow.
Today, we watched the sky fall down,
All the earth stood still.
Chaos and disaster followed,
Some living lost their will.
Some raided homes and shops,
Others hurt, maim and kill.
Fires burned through all the streets,
Death took the sick and ill.
Only a small few survived,
Those who were lucky, skilled or brave.
They searched, scavenged and sheltered,
Anything to avoid their grave.
There was no time to mourn the dead,
The world had paid the cost.
They were building up a new world,
But would remember what they’d lost.
