Branches of Sight

Posted: January 23, 2017 in Uncategorized

How can one person
Look at a tree

And simply see a tree

Brown wood, green leaves

Nothing special

Just a tree
When another person sees

A world of wonders

A thing of beauty

Earths art

To admire and adore
They see the bark

Rugged and rough

Smooth and twisted

Fifty shades of brown

With greens and blacks
They see branches

Reaching to the sky

Skilfully scattered

Twisted like claws

Fingers outstretched
They see variations of leaves

engraved with living veins

Shades and textures

A pick and mix

of natures choosing
They see natures home

A giver and keeper of life

Sharing pollen

While birds nest on branch

And squirrels hide within

They see the air we breath

Our connection to the earth

Growing old

With beauty of youth

And grace of nature
So open your eyes

And see what’s really there

The evolution of landscape

The growth of nature

The lover of life
