Dream interrupted

Posted: May 20, 2014 in Uncategorized

Great!

Peace, Love and Patchouli

Parallel body
Lulled gently into
Much needed sleep
They come
In the farthest recesses
Of my memory laden mind,
These familiar dreams
Like a mid night waltz
Moving smooth
Step by step
I walk in color
Faces
Places
We speak of times
That could never have been,
Sounds filter through
Subconscious movement
In the darkness I see
Eyes watching
Waiting
I reach out and walk with you
Dream interrupted
Magic spell broken
But at peace
I have found my way
Weaving through a mirage
Of sleep
To find my feet on the floor
Walking forward
I slip into the night air
To catch a glimpse
Of moon peering out
Like a small child
Hide and seek,
Through trees now dressed
In the spring coat
Of woodland soldiers
Standing at attention,
Saluting the day
In their finery,
Welcome home they seem to say,
Welcome friend.

Stratosphere of sleep

Great poetry x

Peace, Love and Patchouli

Caught
Somewhere between
Sleep and waking and
Dreams and sleep
Heart racing anxious
Terrorist game
Cat and mouse
What unsettled thoughts
Brought me to this moment
When in sleep you stand there
A stranger dark,
I see your eyes and just feel
The secret you keep,
You give a smile as you realize
That I know what it is about,
This moment you’ve planned
Unearthed, acknowledged.
And I know there is
Nowhere to turn
To run
Frozen as I feel the moment
The explosion
Into the stratosphere
Like a gentle melody I float down
Like a feather.
Reminiscent of
Reminders that the end is not
Just the end
That in death
There is a quiet peace,
A calm
That you have not won
And the love and peace
Does indeed separate
Sets us free.

Thoughts on unsettled nightmarish dreams.

Skipping a Beat

Skipping a Beat

Her smile is painted on.
Like a mask she wears,
To hide herself.
Her eyes have lost their shine.
They look empty and dead.
She’s crying inside.
In her head,
She wants to scream.
But she keeps it in,
Her problems unseen.
She wants a hand to hold.
Someone to understand,
Her world is so cold.
And her heart beat is still.
Because she’s hurt so much,
It’s broken in too.
She’s a shattered shell.
Alone and lost,
Battling a personal hell.
Life’s nipping at her heels.
She yearns for help,
To enable her to heal.
She wants things to change.
To mend her heart,
She feels short changed.
So when will it be her day?
Will her heart beat again?
Or will the pain always stay?
The answers are unknown.
For we each decide,
To bear our own stone.

Words in Song

Dream a little dream of me
I’ll be counting stars
Singing Blue moon
While wondering if there’s
Life on Mars
I’m fighting all my demons
Asking if E.T is real
Just give me reason
Another love I feel
I don’t want to miss a thing
While I’m chasing the sun
You can’t take me,
I’m free
But I’ve missed you
Since you’ve been gone

Soft as Snow

Soft as Snow

Words fell like snowflakes,
Softening tears.
How can a life,
Be summed up in 45 minuets?
They spoke of his youth,
His wife, his grown up kids.
He had always been there,
At the milestones of life.
His smile cemented,
In my mind.
I had written a poem,
The night he left us.
A way to cope.
Words flowed out.
With a trickle,
Came a waterfall.
I wanted to make him proud.
Deliver my own words,
With strength I spoke.
And my words,
Were as soft as snow.
Cushioning the sadness.
A gift of memories.
Which I needed to give.
I will miss him now,
As the snow melts away.
